Don't have any experiences with evga myself, but if you want any overclocked gfx card i would recommend looking for one with a heatpipe cooler solution (they are usually more silent and have less heat problems).
i personally would get one of the ati 4800 series cards, benchmarks for both 4850 and 4870 cards look really good. the 4850 seems to offers better performance than the 8800 for roughly the same price (at least here in europe). 4870 is a bit more expensive but has even more power with higher clocks and gddr5 ram.
