I know some people who have had 4 gamecubes. I know someone on their 3rd. I repeat. 3rd Wii.
You gotta rember the way the console was treated makes a BIG diffrence in how long they live. I have NEVER lost a single console. I have had NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, PS1, PS2, PS3, Wii, X-box, and a few others inbetween. I do fear the most for my Wii for a first failure, becuase I have had it crash due to over-heating.

I dont smoke, I keep my house rather dust-free, and I do not let animals, kids, or rowdy people NEAR my entertainment system. It cost me WAAY too much to let something happen to it. I'm not saying there are defective equipment out there. I got a graphics card that almost smoked my entire computer. It was running at 90c, and my P4 was at 70c because the ambient temp was 65c. I am lucky I didnt fry my processor, and everything else in my computer due to the extreme ambient heat. 1 bad chip, can litterally cook EVERYTHING in a console. I could run games and everything perfect. Not a single artifact on that computer. Something like that on a PS3, or Wii. After 6months or a year, or even two years. When dust gets in the fans, and the air-flow is diminished, the heat will cook many many things. I dont mention the 360, becuase they cook with perfectly good chips. A problem like that would fry it within hours of turning it on.
I think DKII's numbers are close to right tho. That's what I would say.
