@Kasz216,
Stop enticing me with those giant robots!

God bless region free consoles/handhelds.

Yeah. I can't wait to find out what series they decide to include. They'll probably stay pretty safe for the first iteration.

New PS2 one comes out in September.

I know, "Z" is coming out on PS2 in September. I was quite disappointed when they announced "Z" for PS2. Japanese developers are way too conservative and I can understand that they feel safer to release games for PS2, rather than PS3.... Just look at Persona 4 and Super Robot War Z. If they take a chance, they may get rewarded because a great number of PS3 owners in Japan will literately buy anything at this moment.... Oh well.

Unfortunately, I don't have a console that will play Japanese PS2 games, so I will pass on "Z". I was thinking of getting the "alpha" remake on PSP, but I heard the developer adjusted the AI too far, making it extremely difficult to beat.....

I've just finished the "MX" on PSP 5 minutes ago and the last chapter took me nearly 4 hours (400,000 HP for the final boss). MX on PSP is known for its notorious long loading time. Besides, I really don't like to staring at handheld monitors too long because it makes my eye very uncomfortable. So, I may just keep patiently waiting for Banpresto to announce Super Robot War on PS3.

PSP's are region free? Had no idea. Guess that explains why japanese PSPs were such hot commodities in Japan though.

With the publishers... I don't blame them. I mean.. Niche games have a very small base. You've got to make sure that base has moved on.... and while they'll likely buy a system for your games... not a system as expensive as the PS2.

I mean look at Disgaea 2 VS Disgaea 3.

http://www.vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=Japan&game1=Disgaea+2+-+PS2&reg2=Japan&game2=Disgaea+3+-+PS3&reg3=All&game3=&weeks=100

Sales are only about 70% what they were on PS2. Which... isn't bad considering the userbase difference... but these niche games probably work on the edge as it is... while on PS2 is cheaper... and would likely sell more copies. I mean look at the amazing sales for Persona 4.

The next one after S might have the same problem(rumored to be a PS3 project).  Just like Disgaea this series really hasn't been about pushing technology.

My biggest fear is they make a PS3 one and a Wii one and the Wii one does better leading to more Wii ports... as Banpresto loved to spread the love... even Gamecube got a SRW game.  Of course now that it's under Bandai/Namco who knows what they'll do.  Hopefully a long line of region free PS3 games i can import.
