Should the PSP be viewed as a succes or a failure?

I think it's a big flop. Not only is PSP selling hardware unimpressively, but they also aren't getting much money from the software sales, which is pretty bad considering each PSP makes Sony lose money.

I don't even believe they are going to profit anything from the PSP. Maybe when the new PSP release comes out it could be different, but still...
