How to Tips for PS3 Dummies: Use PC peripherals

July 22nd, 2008

Ok we are not calling anyone thick and stupid here, we are simply trying to help those who are new to the PS3 or simply to those who are not in the know.

Did you know that you can use normal PC peripherals on your PS3 gaming console, for example say you like browsing the internet via your Playstation 3 but hate using the PS3 control pad, well here are some solutions.

The onscreen keyboard via the PS3 is a nightmare for doing emails and typing out messages etc, but did you know the PS3 actually can take standard PC keyboards and mice.

They work wonders with the PS3’s browser, they even work on some games like Unreal Tournament 3. The PS3 will allow you to pair up Bluetooth keyboards and mice.

If say you have wired peripherals all you need to do is simply plus into the USB ports on the Playstation 3 console or USB Hub that is connected to your PS3. If you are indeed using Bluetooth keyboards or mice then you need to go into the settings, just go to the Settings column, then click “Accessory Settings” then click “Manage Bluetooth Devices” the follow the on-screen instructions.

If you have any useful tips for newbies please let us know.
