... [cut for brevity]

Online -The Wii supports a large variety of online services, and like PSN, is free. A quote from amazon:

"The Wii Channel Menu will be the first screen shown on the television, as it easily integrates itself as part of people’s everyday lives. The Wii Channels are: Disc Channel, Mii Channel, Photo Channel, Forecast Channel, News Channel, Wii Shop Channel, Internet Channel and the Wii Message Board."

Hope that helped

The Wii's online channel is no longer free... depending on what service you are talking about, that is. The internet channel itself (an Opera-created web browser) now costs like $5.00 or something. Everything else is free that I know of.

(Sorry to respond to a post, but I thought it was relevant.)

Personally, I would recommend the Wii. The wiimote/nunchuck combination is one of the best out there, I feel. The pointing adds so much to the control scheme, its not even funny. The motion sensing I like, but I can agree it is not enough to carry the control scheme alone. The Pointing, on the other hand.... amazing. Especially if you are used to the responsiveness of K+M, dual analog just won't cut it.

Is the multiplayer gaming free? Because as online gaming on PC is free, why should it be any different on a console was kinda my point.

One person's experience or opinion never shows the general consensus
