While the Wii has helped in this I am sure..... I think the Wii male:female ratio is probably about that in itself (it's about 50:50 in Japan) So with the addition of the other male orented consoles that would drag it below 40%.... and DS despite being incredible woudn't be able to pull it up.
PC gamers (The Sims and perhaps online gambling type things) will be the main factor in such a high female ratio.
