Zim said: Pretty fanboy statement there kingofwale. If NG2 should go multiplatform then a huge amount of games should. Let's just consider MGS4.
MGS4 has sold around 4.5-5 times as much if you give it an extra week. I would be willing to bet the budget for MGS4 was more than 5 times that of NG2. MGS4 advertising budget alone was probably bigger than NG2's budget. I saw the multiple adverts so many times, massive poster in shibuya, adverts running constantly on a huge amount of trains in Japan (those adverts are extremely expensive)
NG2 was published by Microsoft, MGS wasn't published by sony.
Sigma's sales on PS3 were pretty awful. It sold 380K LTD in America and Japan, NG2 has sold 440K in 6 weeks.
If we assume an average next gen game budget requires 500k to break even, NG2 already is in good profit.
Porting to the PS3 is known to be troublesome for developers. I believe it was criterion that said it was much easier going from Ps3 to 360 than the other way. |
how would it already be in good profit if it has sold 440k as you just said the previous sentence and it takes 500k to break even?

Wrong numbers I guess. This is what I can see
| Region |

America |

| Total Sales |

582,239 for 6 weeks is not bad at all, with 25,177 for the last week (Week Ending 11th July 2008)
Ninja Gaiden sold around 900k worldwide. Ninja Gaiden 2 need 320 000 more to top its predecessor.
BTW Ninja Gaiden 2 is the most brutal hack&slash game so far IMO. I like it more then Devil May Cry 4.
