I ignored your post and everyone elses post just to point out that the PS3 does have the weakest library.

It's true and its damn true.

The only game I have currently that I like is Warhawk, and I very rare play that.

The next purchase will more than likely be Uncharted or GT5: Prologue. When I think of a PS3 game when going to the game store I look at the PS3 side and look at disgust because I want to buy something for the PS3 but I can't because the Xbox 360 of the game will be better.

This is what I would buy the PS3 if I only had the PS3:

Army of Two
Battlefield: Bad Company
Burnout Paradise
Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Devil May Cry 4
Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit
F.E.A.R.
Folklore
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
Grand Theft Auto IV
GRID
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Heavenly Sword
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds
John Woo Presents Stranglehold
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
MotorStorm
Need for Speed: Carbon
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Resistance: Fall of Man
Ridge Racer 7
Rock Band
SingStar
The Orange Box
Time Crisis 4
Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Vegas
Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Tom Clancy Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
Unreal Tournament III
Virtua Fighter 5
Warhawk

Now, I don't have just the PS3. I own a 360 and Wii so those multi-platform games I would always pick the 360 version.

So this is what the list looks like now:

Folklore
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
Heavenly Sword
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
MotorStorm
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Resistance: Fall of Man
Ridge Racer 7
SingStar
Time Crisis 4
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
Warhawk

To my knowledge of the list of PS3 games I want. This is a weak library.

But for the average core gamer that second list is more games then theyed own in a generation anyway. The PS3's library is just fine.

Library's don't sell games:

Style, Hype, Advertising, and Marketing.

I know I sound like I am repeating myself and switching sides, it's just that these are the factors and always will be the factors.

What's the reason why Genesis, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, and Xbox "failed" to take the top spot?

Looked attrocious to most people. Check Style

No hype (Gamecube) or hype was out done by the competitor (Genesis, N64, Xbox). Check Hype

Advertising not featuring to the people actually buying/paying for the consoles. Check advertising.

Bad pricing (Xbox online service before people were really interested in it), bad packaging (Genesis Sega CD, Sega 32X, Sonic and Knuckles), bad release schedule (N46, GC). Check Marketing.

Really? I was an 11-15 year old last gen and I ended up with like 25GBA games and 40 GC games, and so far this gen I have 11 Wii games, about 30 DS games, 3 PSP games, and 1 360 game... and I'll be getting alot more becuase I blew alot of my money on buying a Sega Saturn, 360, and PSP system this summer.
