Porting is the process of adapting software so that an executable program can be created for a computing environment that is different from the one for which it was originally designed. Say your argument is correct that 360 AND ps3 are BOTH the target platforms. In that case, the games would be created "FOR A COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT THAT IS NOT DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE FOR WHICH IT WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED" To Prove that it is being developed FOR the ps3, i bring to mention your own quoting of cute clarification lady (1:24 they're building it on a PC, for the PS3 then will be working on porting to 360.) Building it on a pc, for the ps3. Not for the pc. If the games original intent was FOR the PC, then the term "port" would apply. This in turn also proves that your argument of 360 AND PS3 being the target platform is also false by means of the cute clarificatin lady. In fact, you should have just listened to her in the first place. I hope you feel about yourself the way I feel about you right now. For 3615 posts i thought maybe you would have something more meaningful to say.

It is developed for the PS3, but is being ported from the PC, let me put it for you in this way, do you think that the devs are going to build the engine for the PS3, then put on the dev kid start the debugger and run it every time they want to prove something???
And they are not going to take the PS3 version and port it to the 360, they are going to use their tools to port it from the PC to the 360...
Neither the PS3 or the 360, are the main figures this time, this time the main actor if the middleware, they want tools to make multiplatform tittle, they make it work on the PC and the port to the PS3 in order to check that everything is working, like the UT Engine, or Capcom with DMC4, they are not working directly on the PS3 dev kits, since they don´t want that path, that solution is obsolete to them and other devs are working on the same solution (UnrealEngine, CryEngine2, CrystalTools) all of them run on the PC and all of them can build ports to the consoles...
The game is made with the Crystal tools from the PC to the PS3 and the 360
The 360 version is a port in the same sense as the PS3 version
The crystal tools where not developed "for cgi manipulation" as you put it, is a full middleware solution
And I already put a better definition of a port rather than yours:
"Look when I say port, I mean that FF13 is being developed with the ps3 capabilities and specs in mind. After that the 360 version is getting the version that the ps3 is getting so long as the framerates hold out.
I'm sorry you don't understand what "port" means. But theres the definition, pretty much."
Unless you can really find evidence to support your claims I will no go any further on this, you can say whatever you want but if you can´t understand what a port is or what are the aims of the company there is no point on keep arguing this...
