The PS3 is getting the games anyway.
It's not like a lost exclusive is the same thing as the game will never see the light of day on the platform.
Third party support is vital to any platform. I have always believed that.
It's always been the key to any console's success each generation, but what I don't believe is that this support should purchased rather than simply chosen by developers because they decided a given platform is the best one for them to create their games on.
SE is a different issue on the other hand. I'm still inclined to believe they were simply following the largest user base for their -expensive- game. If MS had actually paid for a non-exclusive port, reason stands to believe they would have bought a Japanese port as a part of the deal, since it has the most potential as a console mover in the Japanese market, which is clearly something MS could use if they haven't already given up completely in that region.
