1) The flashing lights, if anything, that you have a low-er battery, no biggie (mine does it all the time).
2) If your light is flashing, and your controller hasn't connected to your Xbox 360, you need to re-sync the controller to the Xbox. There's a smaller button on top of the 360 (near the battery compartment). Press that, and then press the button on the X360 faceplate, that has the little wireless icon.
