I have a few consoles that I have more than 1 of:
4 Sega Saturns: The best CD player(equalizer) built into a game system. The pitch adjustments were off the hook and I actually used two of them as DJ equipment. No other game system has even come close afterwards. All 4 work fine.
4 Playstations: 2 dead. 1 I need to put at a 45 degree angle to play. 1 that works fine.
2 Dreamcasts: Quick casual and arcadey fun. Both work fine.
2 Playstation 2s: 1 fat for home use. 1 slim hooked up in my car. Both work fine.
2 Xbox 360s: 1 for my room(launch system). 1 for the living room(elite). Both work fine.
I also have all the other game systems, but only 1 of them. Wouldn't have bought a PS3 yet, but I wanted to have one that was BC, so I bought a 60 gig before they were out. Would have waited for FF XIII to buy one.
As far as buying FF XIII goes. I'll buy the 360 version. If there are any good give aways for preordering on the PS3 version, I might buy that one too. If not I'll wait till Versus comes out and buy it.
