Since the majority of the sales are in Others and Others software is the least accurate VGChartz chart, if sales are off by 10% just in that region for both the Wii and DS that would make a huge difference.
It says 'almost 10m'. That means just over 9m in marketing speak.
It is also reasonable that unusual levels of stockpiling have taken place in anticipation of the pre-Olympics boost which should come shortly - few games will get the resurgence in sales this one will likely have.
