ALL is about HYPE
and, in europe, sony hype is awesome.
You have to know than before PS1, people just didnt care a lot about videogames.
Ofc, a lot of people know nintendo but they have stoped to play these games when they become adolescent. At this moment, PS name appear, conquer adolescent and open the market to new customers 20-30 year old with more mature game. They introduce some ""realistic"" simulation to casual gamers : GT/Fifa/PES. It iseasier to use and cheapier than a PC. I dont mention the "switch" that alllow u to make illegal copy work on the system.
There is definitely a GENERATION playstation in europe.
Since Wii work in another category, Wii can (and is) make great things.
Wii is cheapier and allow u to play differently.
But typically, Xbox360 will just never catch PS3 even if PS3 is more expensive.
Just about GTA4, from a retailer words, people want to buy GTA4on PS3, not on Xbox360.
Just wait a price drop (a "true" one) for PS3 and you will see PS3 sales increase SIGNIFICATIVELY.
my bet ....
what sells the PS3 is the playstation name himself, before game/blueRay etc ..
