i don't think Master Chief or Car from GT, or Kratos can be a mascot.
Master Chief and Kratos will probably make kids cry. A mascot need to be likeable by average people.
Mario, Pikachu works.
Square Enix don't use cloud or any RPG main characters for mascot. They use Chocobo, Moogle, and Dragon Quest Slime.
