Well...like I said (and others have as well) Sony is no Nintendo in terms of profitability and first/second party game popularity (the PS1/PS2 were regarded so highly mostly because of third parties). And then we have MS attacking them as well and I don't think Sony will be out of it easily like Nintendo with the N64/GC. They can still expand their first/second party game userbase though. |
You should remember that Nintendo has had a bigger monopoly on the hand held arena than Microsoft has on OS, that is until the psp stole about a third of it. Also, Nintendo has had 20 years to build up their first party franchises. Sony's biggest franchise is also one of their oldest, Gran Turismo.
And for the people saying that SE will make FF13 inferior on the 360, believe it or not companies have pride, and SE will not let FF13 go out the door if the 360 version is noticeably inferior in any way.
Quick question though about the Crystal Tools which might be intriguing to some people, my self included. If the Crystal Tools is to allow them to make PC games and then port it to consoles and have it be a high quality port (so that you don't even know it is a port), does anyone else hope that they will start releasing games on the PC? I know Infinite Undiscovery is coming to PC, but I think that is using Epic's Unreal Engine. Personally I plan on getting it for PC so that I can help show there is interest in SE making PC games because what they have been able to do on the ps2 with its limited hardware, just imagine what they can do with PC where there is pretty much no limits to what you can do.
