Critics think a lot of things should get Oscars until it's time to vote. Then somehow, only the same shit as always get the votes. They thought Sasha Baron Cohen should've gotten a nod. Didn't happen. They thought Jack Nicholson shoul've gotten a nod when he played the Joker. Didn't happen. They said The Incredibles should have gotten a best picture nod. Didn't happen. They said the Bourne Ultimatum should have had a best picture nod. DIdn't happen. It's unbelievably hard for a movie or it's actors that do not conform to the typical Oscar mold to ever get any real nominations. Ledger has an advantage because he's dead, the same as when Ray got it's many award nominations, but I still wouldn't put too much hope in him getting a mention. Maybe a Golden Globe nod is possible though.
