Today it's standard for a RPG maker to develop/have an MMORPG, since it just brings so much dough. Seriously, I bet most people here who criticise MMOs haven't even played any.
It's not like Bioware will stop making single-player RPGs. They're currently developing Dragon Age: Origins (awesome) and Mass Effect 2 (okay).
