Disapointment is defined as unmet expectations. Does hype raise your expectations for games so high that when you finally play them you end up a little disapointed?

My best example of this was the comparisons people made between MGS4 and Crysis visuals. So immediately on playing the game I just had to compare them. The visuals were nothing like Crysis and I was... disapointed.

I find its easier since I don't track Wii games, that when I finally get to play them - all I know is that they're pretty well made games, the ones I end up playing. But I don't have overly high expectations and the games very rarely disapointment me because I don't have any preconceptions about what the game will be like etc.

I think I buy into hype too easily and thats probably why it does it to me. I think theres also a difference between registering an interest in a game and making outrageous claims.
