Everyone seems to be ignoring the very real fact that the Netflix service was already able to stream through Vista's/XP's media center and the 360 if you were savvy enough to take 20 minutes reading how to do so online. Furthermore with just a little more effort you could stream through your original x-box.

I have a netflix account and stream right on my TV because I hooked my desktop to my Television. This costs me absolutely nothing.

This is just a way for M$ to con people into the Gold membership for something that is free anyways.

EDIT: This really emphasises how lazy (read: stupid) Americans are if something free and already available gets touted as the "next big thing",

As far as I am aware the Netflix streaming thing only works through IE as of right now.  Not sure how you can get this to stream through the 360.  I know you can stream audio and video files from your pc to the 360 but was unaware of a way to stream Netflix's instant watch functionality.  Also, I can hook my laptop up to my tv, but it cannot go up to a resolution high enough for my 42' lcd.  I would much rather not have to worry about linking my pc up to my tv anyway.

EDIT: I looked it up and the only one I have found so far, requires Vista.  I do not have Vista so this one would not work for me.  I will continue the search and respond.

EDIT: Apparently that method is still in the beta stages and is very fickle.  So basically you need Vista and the program is fickle.  Not a very good package if you ask me.
