I believe it will probably be 2:1 sales of Gears of War 2 over Resistance 2 in the first week or two of release -- perhaps more. I thoroughly enjoyed Gears 1 but I can't say the same thing about RFOM. I wanted to like resistance because R2 is coming, but after having played some of the more moder shooters -- COD4 for example -- Resistance is a fair game at best. Maybe R2 will be a better game, but I don't think Resistance as a franchise has as rabid a fan following as Gears does. That and 360 owners tend to buy the hell out of hyped software. See Halo 3.
