I think the whole "its hard to program for" just came out because EA and UbiSoft have little faith in the PS3 in the sense that they don't think its worth their time to makes games for it cause they don't think they will make their money back like they did with the PS2.
But who really knows, I stopped caring about that long ago. Their is nothing I can do about it so why get all hung up about it. If EA and Ubisoft don't want to put effort into making PS3 games thats their choice not ours. All PS3 fans can do if they want more support form EA and Ubisoft is to buy all the games they make for the PS3, that way it shows that the PS3 user base wants the game and if they can see that they can make a profit off PS3 users they will up their support for them. As I said the whole "its hard to program for" is just a cover for not wanting to support the PS3 cause they don't think its profitable.
