Not quite the same.
I put this upgrade slightly above the switch from SixAxis to DS3.
It has the potential for a lot more, but without actually seeing something other than a Wii Fencing mini-game, I'm not nearly about to believe this is as groundbreaking as an entirely new console would be.
It's a silly comparison.
What I would hope is that Motion Plus provides a closer experience to what I thought the Wii Remote was supposed to provide back when the Wii first caught my interest.
Everyone is allowed to upgrade and make enhancements to their product lines without starting over naturally and I see this as a potential step in the right direction, assuming the games take advantage of the enhancements.
If not, hey; it's either an overpriced $20 dongle, or a bargain $30 purchase with Wii Sports 2/Resort.
