Around the Network

Ya know what. Reality TV is not for me....but if this sparks some more PSN shows or documentaries like real documentaries about videogames, producers or studios im all for it.

I hope this concept evolves.

The females are pretty hot, I'll definitely be watching them....this series.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

oh great its a gamers version of big brother..sigh

this looks ....... MEH !

Around the Network

I would rather it be just on games not really....stuff that doesn't have to do with the jobs.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

Huge lol at the Home producer talking about bad performance to someone, but then again, I guess she would be the one to know. heyooooooo, I'll he here all week!

Anyways, this comic couldn't sum it up any better.

Oh the surprise they get when they realize they'll be playing broken games and walking into a corner for eight hours or a bitchy person like me asking them to reproduce a 1/100 bug and then document the repro steps.

-edit-

And no disrespect against testers, it's a grueling job that I could never do and I couldn't have more respect for them, just this show is silly because...it just is.  That comic highlights it perfectly.

People seem to have this crazy fantasy of testers being these crazy awesome people that play games all day and do crazy things like in Grandma's Boy, when it's not really that.  It's low pay, crap hours, and playing broken games which is pretty difficult.  Don't get me wrong, the testers I know love their job, it's just it's not what you see in things like the trailer above, it's more like what's in that comic.

After watching that video, and as QA myself,

BAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA
AAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA

On another note, it's not as bad as that comic depicts, but that's obviously an exaggeration. I'd hate to have to write up a 5 page report on every geometry issue I've encountered in a single day!

But man, that trailer is too funny. I hope they do a season 2. I'll try to sign up for it and laugh at the people who get all sappy over the position... lol

Seriously, here's how the grand prize in that show is gonna work:

"Congrats, you won! You are now a Tester! Now sign this 3 month contract and if we need you any further we'll let you know 24 hours before your contract is up."

lmao. I've been in the industry for quite a bit now and unless you're GOOD at what you do you're gonna get canned. I can't tell you how many bright eyed faces I've seen stroll through the door, only to have all that colour drained from their face in the short term of their contracts and thrown out the gate a broken human.

It's kind of funny after a while. Hahahaha

By life end:

  • Wii- 100 million+
  • Xbox360- 35~40 million
  • PS3- 30 million
  • PSP- 30~32 million ------------- FAILURE
  • NDS- 85~90 million (Skeptical)  - FAILURE
  • NDS- 100 million+ (Optimistic) -- Success!

Oh my... that was pretty ridiculous!
Game tester? What happened to the good prizes?

i don't think any of them are doing the show for the job anyway. Its the "being on TV"(sort of) part that made them apply.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
