Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Zelda: Re-confirmed for E3

@Metallicube

Not for a Zelda game, no. Polishing to absolute perfection takes much time.

@norldlead

The statement was:

Super Mario Galaxy 2, a Mario action title in 3D world, will be launched this year.
And, we will show the new Zelda title for Wii at this year's E3.

If they were all coming out this year wouldn't they have said that?

@damkira

Super Mario Galaxy 2 has already been shown...

What could they possibly have in store at E3 that they will reveal? There will be more info on the previously mentioned games, but many are booked for 2010 releases.

I'd only expect this stuff plus maybe whatever Retro's been doing.

And GTA Wii still wouldn't shock me.  They really should have Leeds make San Andreas Stories...

Just with better textures, steady framerate, more effects, and not making the story so full of itself, or using a bunch of "Empire Missions" (Vice City Stories) or hanging out with friends missions (IV) to pad out the game. Sure another SA obviously wouldn't need those, but those people shouldremember that.

At E3 2008 I believe, that Chinatown Wars DS came out of left field. Although a timed exclusive, it still made it to a Nintendo console. Now I don't want to start rumors and speculation, but dammit it is 2 years later, and GTA: CW will have passed 1m by the time E3 2010 begins.

Take-Two/Rockstar stated that the Wii audience was too large to ignore in 2008. We got seemingly fake images of a Wii GTA before, but such things do put the title in the minds of their creators. The best way to make money is to get your IP on as many consoles as possible, or in this case whore out GTA LOL The Wii will have an 80 million sized userbase by the end of the year, and there is no October GTA to put on that?

Since there is a God, please let my hopes be true.....haha

and Nintendo also stated

Here, I'd like to discuss our plan for this year.

Nintendo values the "freshness" of our product information, and in general disclose information of our major titles to be launched at year-end during the E3 show, which is to be held in Los Angeles in June this year.

However, I'd like to introduce you to some of the titles that we will launch this year today."

and then proceeded to mention Zelda

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

I think they are saving Sora Project and Retro Project as the real heavy hitters for e3. Prepare to be amazed.!

Y'know, Nintendo has announced a lot recently.
Zelda,Metroid, Mario Galaxy 2, Xenoblade, Last Story.....

The only thing left I need to hear from the 3rd party front is a GTA Wii and I'll go nuts.

Actual third party games?  I remember a time when 3/4 of Nintendos focus was showing Third Party content instead of just focusing on their own.  Namely during the GC/GBA gen.

Admittedly, part of what got Nintendo to where they were today was ignoring that trend and focusing on showing stuff like WiiSports, Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart.  But perhaps now that they've established their dominance, they can turn around and focus on their third parties.  I think games like Drago nQuest IX (for America), Dragon Quest X, Last Story and Xenoblade might be a good start at this years E3.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

I need a screenshot, a trailer, something!

Nintendo wins E3, confirmed, totally.
