Im from Europe. Ive never heard of it.

If I'm not mistaken (I can't see the video here at work ) isn't it similar to Lacrosse but without the sticks? Lacrosse is moderatly popular in the states, at the college level especially but there is a Pro circuit as well.

What the hell is handball?

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

I don't think there's any country where Handball is actually popular, as far as I'm concerned...it's a niche sport. I mean, I played it in my elementary school, and a lot....but it's niche, it's not a popular sport anywhere except maybe a few countries

What is handball?

-edit-

Also, why does every foreign person (Americans included) think their sports are better than other sports and feel the need to make threads like this?

Because two of the U.S's biggest sports are American Football and Baseball... That seems kind of obvious.

And forget handball. Why can't Volleyball be a successful spectator sport anywhere in the world? It's easily the most fun game to play!

Brilliant post. The only way this could be better is if you were Irish (I'm assuming from your avatar you're English)

It looks fun but is it really that popular? Personally I think Rugby needs some recognition in the US. Now there's a properly violent sport. It makes American Football look wimpy in comparison :P

Your right. American football (and Canadian) should be replaced with Rugby.

Woah ... I knew that handball wasn't the most popular sport in the world but I'm kinda surprised that most people haven't even heard of it.

It's pretty popular in Germany. I don't know about the other European countries but judging by their national teams it should at least be somewhat popular in the Slavic and Scandinavian countries as well as Spain and France.

In Germany it's played a lot in school from class 5 to 12. (at least in my region)
