Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii online culture?

Hey guys. I was just curious as to how you would describe the Wii's online gaming culture. There's been discussion about the demographics, conduct, and culture of gamers who play on XBL and PSN...and I was wondering what your impressions are in regards to the Wii. I do not yet have the Wii Speak, so I haven't been able to talk to anyone on the Conduit, nor do I own Animal Crossing yet.

What are your impressions?

It's pretty difficult to talk to anyone on the Conduit even if you have Wii Speak from my experience (I don't have Wii Speak but playing with people who did messed up my sound, so I muted them)

There's a wii online culture?

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

So can you talk with random people in The Conduit? Because if you can not, then there isn't a game on the Wii that can truly tell us the online culture of the Wii as you can not talk with random people and only your friends. Hopefully Monster Hunter 3 can change and set the bar for that.

Playing Wii online with Wii Speak (the games that do support it) is basically like playing with a lot of mellow stoners that like to chill out haha I'm not joking I got some friends for Animal Crossing on the AC community site and its a bunch of stoners, I get friend codes for Guitar Hero, stoners, I see sigs for people I've played The Conduit with, weed plants... I add people on this FC exchange site they've got stoner related terms in their usernames... yeah...

The other large group I play with is the guys here at VGC and real life friends which is a rather colorful group of people, so not a lot of common traits.

Why do you think Nintendo keeps them from being able to talk at all?

:P

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

there are a few dirty cheaters (like in mario kart wii ugh). other than that, i don't really know. most of the other players seem ok.
