I already made one.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

cheap is good

I suppose first party Nintendo games sell well enough to exclude them from the "Best of" series.

It's not really a "best of", it's a sort of "3rd party games approved both by Wii users and by Nintendo" seal of approval, which is what the Wii needs - a way to point the masses that are not exposed to gaming sites at quality games.

Some people have been saying that Nintendo needs to help 3rd parties advertise - well Nintendo is doing that here, and instead of having to advertise on a game by game basis, all Nintendo needs to do is advertise and create brand awareness for this "seal of approval" line as a line. I think it's a brilliant idea, now let's just hope they implement it (and implement it well) outside of Japan as well.

This is also potentially a solution for retailers that may be wary of orderig some types of Wii games, thus sometimes hurting good games in the process  (e.g. Muramasa in EU) - they will now have a quality lineup that they can calmly order and place on their shelves, thus giving exposure to some games that they would otherwise be wary to order.

It looks like a win win situation for all.

Not questioning what you are saying, but do you have a link to this or potential Japanese Wii console.  Always been looking for these things to see how the rest of the world rates the Wii games, as of course I only have access to the American list.

Great idea to bring this to Wii. Now it would be an even greater idea to bring it to the states.....IMO.

@jarrod

Here it says that 75 games qualified for the lineup, of which the seven were chosen. The games you posted only add up to 41.

Well, it'd be 48 counting the games that actually made it (TOS2, DBZ BT3, Muramasa, ARF, 428, We S&S, One Piece UC1).  That original 75 games quote probably refers to "tentative" titles too, or games with high enough scores but not actually enough votes yet to make them permanent status.  That includes more recent games like FFCC: The Crystal Bearers, Biohazard: The DarkSide Chronicles and even Kamen Rider: Climax Heroes.
