KONAMI announced today that "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS", the latest in the METAL GEAR series, is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2008.

KONAMI had initially intended to release "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" this winter and has been working on the production of the title. KONAMI has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide (more customers....possibly 360 owners?  hahaha i kid).

second quarter = what?  april-july or something?

Personally I don't expect this to come out til holiday season 08.  I expect some other PS3 games to be moved from Q1 to Q2-4 also.

First so many games during the holiday season that lots get bumped to Q1/08, and now so many games in Q1 that they're getting bumped to Q2? Nah, MGS4 is such a strong title that it probably wouldn't have to dodge anything.

Is it intended to be a global release, or is the US/Europe version coming out some months later btw?

I know, just wanted to ward off idiots, just in case...

MGS4 was a key part of the PS3's 08 domination, now the domination will have to wait a little longer. Hrmmmm.....

Interesting, Japanese one says Q1 2008, and the English one says Q2 2008.
