It's a good deal if you already own Sky but a little dissapointing if you don't. This looked like a promising service (for me personally) when it was first mentioned as I can't have a Sky dish at my flat and so this would be the perfect way to get the Sky Sports package (I miss cricket and football ). Unfortunately the subscription price and channel availability put my off. I'm sure they will develop it in the future and if more channels get added then I might be pursuaded to go for it.

Subscription cost is identical to normal Sky. Channels are upgraded daily not futurely. :)

Just been looking at some of the options and £25 for Sky Sports 1 (which I think covers all football and cricket except the ESPN games I think) and the entertainment package isn't too bad. Has Sky One been added yet? I think that and a couple of the comedy channels are the only things missing I would really want.

yes thank you,i understand it now,

basically,if you already have everything,then it's a nice little bonus,

or good for a multi-room equivalent....

I posted the links in my previous post. Dont be fooled. You can watch everything on Sky Player. You just have to follow the correct deal you want. If you have Sky already £5 would get you all the channels on your 360. Otherwise you just get 21 with just using your Sky ID. Have a look. The menu system on 360 sky is awesome. And you can watch with your friends like you can with HD films off Live. Awesome.

Or if you dont have Sky at all, you can get everything Sky offers normal boxes but with no dish and no wires. You can record, and also a few bonuses that M$ provide like watching with friends like you can with HD films from Live.

MS hyperbole, or real success?

Why would Microsoft lie ?

Hyperbole != lie

misinformation = lie

Only if the misinformation is intentional, otherwise its a mistake.  The mistake then becomes a lie when said person refuses to conceed they're wrong when provided with the proof.

So you think MS spokesperson was mistaken to think the numbers are good when they are actually bad ?

Unless you are speaking in general then I agree.

I was speaking generally, sorry for the confusion.  I don't like to enter others arguments but I honestly felt it was unfair to say someone is telling a lie when they're honestly unaware of perhaps all the facts.

I don't really have an opinion on PR statements like these as they really don't give us any solid information other than Sky and Microsoft are satisfied with the numbers.  Given the way the service went down at launch I thought we all pretty much knew the demand outstripped their expected supply so it had to be a success in terms of number of users really.

Can you provide a source for the 360-Sky numbers being "actually bad"?

I see based on your profile that you're not a 360 owner, that explains why you continually post unsubstantial yet consistently negative comments on this board...

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

Why did you necro-bump this thread, exactly?

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
