What you're saying sounds like you're talking about the people who'll buy it just because it's heavily Disney related. Your statement about how each world is based on movies are true but when I played KH, each world had pretty much just the core plot and climax, they were all really short. Also your actions were way of topic. You were fighting enemies that were from Kingdom Hearts and not those specific worlds half the time.

People who buy movie games expect much longer and much more detailed and focused experiences on that particular movie than what KH games offer. It just doesn't seem right to even compare KH to movie tie-ins when you consider this. It's more like a cross-over game.

Also, Crisis Core and Tales atleast shows there's a market for action RPG's on PSP - Something the sales of those other games doesn't.

As for Epic Mickey and sales, Agent is PS Exclusive even though GTAIV sold much more on 360 than PS3. Agent still has the chance to be a success if made and marketed well. Gears this gen, Halo last gen, and MGS1 in the 5th gen show that exclusivity can be beneficial to getting an IP to really take off and creating their own fanbase.

And yet... thats why the first two KH games sold...  Once again... look at the advertsing for KH1 and KH2.  All it is, is a wide array of Disney characters.

I mean look at the sales Ratio of KH vs the sales ratio of Final Fantasy games when it comes to region.

It's fairly obvious that final fantasy fans are not a main driver... or even close to one.

We don't know there is a fanbase for kingdom hearts on wii soriku, I mean have disney games sold well on the wii?

S-E doesn't know if there's a fanbase for KH on the PSP...

S-E knows there is a fanbase for KH on the sony platforms and that includes the psp.

The same thing could be said for Nintendo platforms.

But those were side stories I meant to say the main kH titles.

BBS is a prequel not a "main" KH title.

Well, this is a subjective point. Either it is or it isn't a "main" title. Since it isn't a numbered entry(in a series that is numbered), it isn't  a main series title.

Do people who play KH expect an exact replication of the Disney worlds? Of course not. Actually, don't most people who watch movies watch it for the core plot and climax anyway? Even then, you can spend more time on each world than their respective movies and there's a large variety of worlds too. The enemies you fight are original, but does that really matter? The funny thing is that all those original enemies and such are owned by Disney and not SE. Org XIII, Heartless, Nobodies, Keyblades? All Disney property.

Crisis Core and Tales show there's a market for action RPGs on the PSP, of course. But I'm not saying any different. I mean, I can easily say Tales on the Wii and Zelda show there's a market for big, grand adventure and action games as well in that case.

We haven't even seen anything about Agent. And it's not GTA. Epic Mickey is a Disney game and so is KH. They're different but at least at this point, Epic Mickey and KH are more similar than Agent and GTA. Also, Epic Mickey is a game that they want to redefine their biggest icon with. Pretty big plans. Agent isn't really redefining anything. Plus the PS3 isn't getting the GTA IV DLC.

I don't believe people watch movies for just the core plot and climax, but no point in going into that. As for the enemies, my point is that the enemies half the time weren't related to the world you were in. People that are buy the game for the Disney theme aren't gonna care for fighting these enemies. I'm not concerned with Disney owning these Kingdom Hearts characters, that's not the point.

Epic Mickey and KH are Disney games, Agent and GTA are R* games. I don't see the similarities between Epic Mickey and KH except for art direction... it's not even the same genre. You say we have nothing on Agent and then say that it's not redefining anything and also Epic Mickey and KH have more in common than GTA and Agent. This doesn't make sense to me. Atleast we know that GTA and Agent are both Action games where as KH and Epic Mickey are to completely different genres. Also don't get what's your point on the GTA DLC. Thought it was common knowledge MS was behind that.

SE will get my $$$ if they release KH:BBS on the Nintendo Wii. I'm willing to pay the 25% added price to get it to that system. Heck I'll re-buy KH1 and KH2 on the Wii even with no upgrades if they port those games!!!

I get what your saying. I'm just saying that I believe it's RPG fans [including final fantasy fans] that are the main drivers for the sales and that the game being a disney game isn't the main reason.  Tried pointing this out earlier with my first post in this thread. THe only Disney games I see selling are Movie tie-ins and extremely casual stuff, and they're not pushing anywhere near KH1&2 numbers and I wouldn't put them in either of those two categories.

It would be a good further test for Disney, in that case. Epic Mickey tests the viability of Disney brands on Wii, 358/2 tests the viability on Nintendo platforms overall, as DS seems to be passing that test well, Birth By Sleep to test the viability on Wii, and then the franchise is pretty much committed...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I don't want to be the odd person to point this out, but what happens if Epic Mickey doesn't do well?

I thought it was a platformer with a few RPG elements... but if you say so...

Epic Mickey doesn't seem like any of those other games listed here on VGC. It's not a movie tie-in and the Developers and Publisher actually seem to be putting some effort into it.

I still believe RPG fans are the main reason for KH sales and not Disney fans. It just doesn't sell like other Disney games.
