Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Interesting data on the Nintendo channel

I think is more to do with the games being too easy.

Sorry to ask more but could you gets the numbers for HoTD 2+3 Return too please. That game was a lot harder and even though shorter I am wondering if it managed more hours per person since they keep trying to beat the game over and over.

Conduit is disappointing given the multiplayer, I think I manage better than that on some shooters in the first weekend.

HotD 2 &3 - 740k hours with 6 hours being the average

It's painfully obvious to me that more people bought 2 & 3 cause it was a budget game and typically those are the games you don't invest a lot of time in... its odd when you spend full price on a game you'll put more time and effort into getting your moneys worth but when a game hits 20 dollars you beat it, say that was fun, and then add it to your collection.

So I was browsing a few games that I like on the Nintendo channel and found you can even view collectively how many hours were played meaning the entire community playing that game, here's a few that surprised me.

No More Heroes - 1.6 million hours played

CoD W@W - 6.7 million hours with about 50 hours per person.

Zack and Wiki - 800k hours (not bad for such a small userbase)

And this one is just hilarious (for a board game in the closet)

Super Smash Bros Brawl - 98 million hours played, played over 45 million times, with an average of 73 hours and 33 times played per person.

This data only includes Wii's that are connected to the internet, so there could be even more hours in total if every Wii owner in the world was included.

Currently playing: Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and Red Steel.

Wii Friend Codes:

Smash Bros Brawl- 5284 2865 3565

Mario Kart Wii- 0216 0932 4306

Mario Strikers Charged- 034471 707985

Send me a message if you have added me.

I have around 240 hours in Brawl and around 10 in HotD 2&3, which I only play when friends come over and want to shoot some zombies.

Can you get average time of Rune Factory: Frontier or ToS:DotNW?

Don't forget that these numbers can also be skewed downard by people who only played for a while and never picked up the game again (renters..etc)

I recall Valve releasing the amount of time people played HL2:EP2 and the numbers were shocking, I think like only 30% of people actually completed the game and something like 10% played only 5 minutes or less (booted up the game to see it was working and never played it again)

I got over 85 hours of gameplay on No More Heroes.

i've got like 160 hours of play time on okami, but the nintendo channel data onlyy has it a 20-25 hours (forgot exactly)

that would mean that most people don't even finish the game.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

you can view a few screenshots from the game in my photo album here; http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=2312

yes, this is vonboy's alt account. i can't log into my original account, and i'm not sure if i will ever be able to.

Guilty.

Played about 3-4 hours of it before selling it.

I don't think the budget thing applies here since Overkill dropped in price about 2 weeks after release.  Quite impressive playtime for 2+3R though considering it is about a 30 minute game.

Was that were you live cause that didn't happen here bud. It took a month of not selling to drop to 40 which still wasn't as cheap as House of the Dead 2 & 3 when it first released at 30 and then dropped to 20.

What are the number for the Conduit, HotD: Overkill and Madworld? If anyone could post please.

I've been following the Nintendo Channel data numbers for The Conduit, in comparison to Punch-Out!!, EA Sports Active, and Wii Sports Resort since July of this year.

Each week, I update the data with pictures, and usually a brief write-up about the numbers.

Some links to the data I've compiled:

Wii Sports Resort vs. The Conduit vs. Punch-Out!! vs. EA Sports Active data comparisons:

One I thing I found interesting one week, The Conduit beat Metroid Prime Trilogy:

If you visit my blog, http://coffeewithgames.blogspot.com/, you may see other games you're interested in, as I'm updating it on a steady basis now with data off the Nintendo Channel.

Those figures are for the USA only by the way Maxwell, and indeed only include users who send their data to the Nintendo Channel... I can't believe you have only just found them as they have been there since the start (unlike the new version of the channel, which isn't here in Europe yet, which has the ability to view your own play time)

I have made a few threads in that past (and there have been others) about the times, I am suprised you didn't see them.

For instance I worked out a while back that Wii Sports had racked up over 1 billion hours (I think it worked out about 1.3 billion at the time)worldwide.
