Forums - Microsoft Discussion - MS to remove Party Chat?

For everyone who feels hurt by the title, compare mine with the source. And actually read what the article says. And what the thread is about.

As the OP for this forum you are responsible for you post including the souce.  Your source chose to interpret MS allowing developers to structure in game chat more to the developers liking as "MS is forcefully removing party Chat".  After reading the post it's clear MS is not removing anything, if the original source would have posted that 2+2 = 5 would you have posted that too?

What's amazing is that nearly every sensational OP title can be traced to N4G...the entire site is nothing more than a more refined troll blog, so normally, if you see complete nonsense post like this here, just check out N4G and it's going to be up there.  Sure, ther "source" might be from elsewhere, but it's not coincidence that this post was near the top of the activity on N4G, when this was posted on VGC.

misleading title... again.

they are giving the developers the option... MS arent taking anything away...

why would ms remove party chat when it is a much talked about feature of the new sky tv service for instance (watching movies and sports events in party chat)

fail.

Then again, you failed yourself to read the article.

Why would a dev do that? If it means the DEV has to force party chat into there development cycle and it ends up like ps3's ingame music then...

mM

That's actually a good thing for games like CoD. Its pretty pointless in Search and Destroy because when you die you can tell all your friends where they are still.

I'll do a signature later

You have it backwards.  Party chat will always be available unless the dev wants it otherwise.

Who the hell needs to talk in MW2?

Its not tactical or anything like ArmA2 is, its a semi real fps thats made for casuals.

meh, not that big a deal, few devs will exclude it, and overall game play will not change. The title of this thread is horribly misleading as MS is not getting rid of party chat, rather they are giving devs an option. This may actually bring a few more devs into the folds. Who knows.

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

If a game, for competitive fairness, requires players to have communication limited, or if the in-game chat adversely impacts performance, it makes sense to offer it as an option to turn off.

Correct, pretty damn sensible to me.
