Its abit far fetched doesnt mean it will not be impossible. As of now, in 2009 alone the console sales on NPD significantly drops by 50 percent. I think there are core gaming implosion will happen if not a video game crash. Thoughts?

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

 

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

 

E3 2010- Tape runs out

Gaming will be picking up soon enough, once the global recession eases off. There are already good signs here in Europe, although NA and Japan economies still seem to be struggling.

There won't be an implosion or a crash. But there will be many big changes as all these stupid companies go bankrupt with their stupid ideas. I'm hoping it will make room for several new indie developers to bring some fresh new ideas to every console.

thats the problem isnt it? The global recession will never ease off. And NA economy was still in shambles and that affected other countries. Well Europe is doing well but thats stil not enough. Thats only for europe not the whole world

the market won't crash thanks to Nintendo, but a lot of other companies might be in a lot of trouble, costs are rising and sales aren't keeping pace, its why companies are trying to push DD and stop used game sales, but that will only fail like the PSP Go



 

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Well the more pessimistic views are that the world economy will grow, but will settle into a permanently lower trend line, the concern is that household debt in the west is too high for consumers to ever bounce back, and since China doesn't consume enough, there is no one to pick up the slack resulting in a state where the economy grows, but the trend line is below the pre-recession trend line.

Its a possibility and I believe it. Just read articles on any news sites about the economy. Take note though, this is gradual so this will not be catastrophic as Zimbabwe or the great depression but it certainly is
