360 Fans - Dont hype any game up, it  could be the best game ever and no one would mention it.

Unless it is a JRPG or Forza, or another title which goes after the Playstation brand's core titles, and then it is the "BEST GAME EVA!"

I will also say that by now, people should have learned that internet hype doesn't guarantee massive success, and zero hype doesn't guarantee failure. The Conduit and KZ2 have proved the former (not saying that KZ2 was a failure, but the hype was insaaaaane, and people clearly expected it to sell way more than it did based on that), and basically every sports game ever proves the latter.

I have to agree that the change in console status and the long delay to include the other version of the game killed the game for me. I already have virtual fighter (that also went multiplatform) so why would I want another fighter (though I am picking up super street fighter 4 when it drops down to 20$). The lose of its exclusivity and long delay "killed" any motivation I would of had of dropping 60$ dollars on this game day one.

What ever happened to days when people bought games they thought were fun? Buying something purely because it's an exclusive, regardless of whether or not you think you'll enjoy it, is one of the stupidest things I've heard.

Tekken and Soulcalibur have always been the fighting franchises for me because those are the ones I played at the arcade. I will pick one or both up eventually. I'd probably pick up Tekken now but there is way too much let for me to buy.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Those days are still here, you just can't tell on the internet lol.

Seriously, I'd never even heard of "console wars" until I started visiting video game forums.

I think the delay hurt the game. Now we have a bunch of fighters to choose from: SFIV, BlazBlue, MvC2, etc. Also there are other games worth getting over this. I'll probably pick Tekken 6 up in that Best Buy deal.

The long delay hurt it since there are many fighters out right now. I'm getting the game for sure as a long time Tekken fan.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Heres how it is.

PS3 Fans - Hype every exclusive up and make it a 360 killer

360 Fans - Dont hype any game up, it  could be the best game ever and no one would mention it.

Wii fans- They got so many games coming out they cant hype them all up.

Wii fans tend to hype their games to death as well. Little King Story, Conduit, Madworld, No More Heroes, Dead Space, etc. The games they hype though have terrible sales.

And the only game that sold badly from the bunch is Dead Space...and that wasn't hyped at all.

Conduit, Madworld, Little King Story and NMH all sold pretty poorly......

Sega and HVS said Conduit sales were good, and Sega said MadWorld sales were good. Or do you want to argue over the company's word?

We haven't heard anything about LKS, but over 100k for a game like LKS is good I'd say too.

To be 100% Honest. Yeah I would argue over the company's PR statements. Especially when they have said that Madworld's sales were disappointing. You can say over a 100k is good for a game but really thats hardly true. Little King's Story selling a 100k when it plays like Pikmin on a 50M+ Userbase is a flop, no if ands, or buts about it. For the hype that was going on for the Conduit and all of the TV ads they kept bombarding us with it should have sold at least 500k, And No More Heores, while it may be getting a "Sequel" the creator Suda 51 expressed extreme disappointment for the games sales but had to "retract" his statements. That sounds fishy to me.

And what about Muramasa? Wii fans have been dying for a good RPG and when they get one it flops? What about Arc Rise Fantasia? That game got better reviews that White Knight Chronicles yet WKC outsold it's LTD within it's first week?

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

And don't forget a huge portion of sales for Madworld and No More Heroes came after the price drop. Madworld inparticular went to $30 after a few weeks. No More Heroes was going for $15 after a few months.

Wii fans tend to boast about legs but obviously front loaded sales are much more profitable.

I would have to agree with what you say. I don't like the double standard that when a game on the PS360 fails to go over 300k its a flop but if it's on the Wii, it gets an instant pass.
