What's up with all the threads getting locked. Is this a "Read Only" site.

Yes, yes it is.

What's on your recommended reading list?

There are approximately 10 kajillion* 'mod threads' at the moment, I dont blame the mods for locking them.

*May be slightly underestimated

The locking of threads was something that's been desperately needed for the longest time, this is one thing I like about all the new mods. They're on top of this one.

Currently playing: Civ 6

I think handling all the alts is more "desperately needed" than locking every thread on the site.

Alts? As in people using alternate accounts to post?

Which ones? I did a search on "mod threads" and only came up with this one.

Of course mods are bias to some degree, will they ban there friends for the same thing they would ban some guy they never talked to, i don't think so. Are they more bias towards one sytem over another of course so. Will they be less likely to ban someone with 2k posts compared to someone with 200 of course so.

But they are only humans and they try their best to make the site perfect, is it a perfect system, no. Will it be one at some time or another i would like to hope so. The same can be said for any site. But will they ban their friends for going off on the site or ioi i would like to think so.

This site is still young and getting better with each day and thats all thats matters. I would like to applaud the mods for doing their best for this site, its not an easy job and they do it very well.

In another thread, people were talking about moderators editing posts, and the thread got closed. Rather than start a new thread to respond, I'll respond here.

Mods should be very careful about editing posts, and only do it if it's absolutely necessary. If someone's spamming the boards with porn links or other ads, or if someone is just posting random vulgarity, that's a good time to edit or erase the post, but I don't think there are many other good times. Even if someone is harshly criticizing the site or the moderators, you will lose far more credibility by editing their posts than you could gain by simply politely disagreeing and using proper arguments.

I moderate another message forum with half a million posts, and a few years ago we had a mod who liked to edit his own posts and the posts of anyone who criticized him. He got fired and banned pretty quickly once the site administrator found out. I don't want to see that happen here.

Carry on. :)

Things will work out.

I am concerned about SSJ12's ideals of "cleaning" up the site especially since his primary gripe before becomming a mod was all the Nintendo bias and Nintendo trolls. But so far he's done nothing to suggest bias in his actions.

Montanna Hatchet has shown repeated lack of restraint in his ability to handle troublesome individuals and a rather immature need to edit posts post-ban. He may shape up in time, but as of the moment he is the only new mod that really has me worried. His behavior in my opinion is unacceptable, but if the other mods aren't bothered, I have no reason to press the matter futher.

I suggest if anyone has problems with the new mods they contact Stof or Ben Kenobi instead of making threads like this.

Give things time to settle down and the new mods time to get used to the job. This is a pretty odd bunch but they should do fine. I just hope they will leave banning to the senior mods like Stof and Benkenobi and remember why they were made mods in the first place.

We should make Hus a mod, for his balanced opinion and eloquent demeanor...
Or maybe there's a job for him at the white house?

With Ckmlb gone, we really do need another Sony mod to keep things even, Hus would be the ideal representative. Lol.
