but everyone uses swear words here. ive never been banned for using a swear word. even twesterm in his 'why the psp is better than the ds' thread used about three or four of them.

Might I suggest following the forum rules? That way, you have no reason to be afraid that the mods will ban you, you help make the community a better place, and you can post all the time! Just think before you post. I can't tell you the number of times I've gone to post something and then closed the tab because I realized that what I wanted to say either added nothing to the discussion or might make someone mad. I try to not make people mad with most of my posts, and I hope it works. Just think about whether or not something that you're posting may be insulting or trolling in some way.

And, you can put all of that enthusiasm towards doing something that gives back to the site that you love so much. It's a win-win situation!

thanks for the advice insomniac. but the forum rules can be so... i dont know. theyre up for interpretation for each mod is the problem. i dont mean to necessarily 'break' the rules, but i like to get my point across by using statements such as '3shitty.'

that particular comment offended somebody i guess, so i got banned for it. dont get me wrong, i love the 360, i just dont like how its a piece of shit and will break down all the time. i wasted a lot of money on it.

The thing is, is that you can express your opinions, you just have to do so in a more... civilized (maybe not the best word...) manner. There is no need to use terms like that when you can say that in a more intelligent way that will offend less people.

Platform criticism. Posts slamming a particular platform without basis - be it a specific console, macs, windows, or anything similar - will not be tolerated. The forums are here for gamers of all persuasions, so unless you're in a thread specifically geared towards platform comparison/discussion, keep your anti-platform comments out of the thread. Note that there is a difference between having a reasonable argument in the correct thread and trolling.

You can express your opinion, just not in an insulting way.
