There seems to be a lot of hate for a PSP game. I'm not sure what everyone was expecting. I was expecting the best racing experience on a mobile platform, and it sounds like PD has delivered it.

i agree and requirement for handheld gaming is not the same as for the console gaming.. on handheld u want an experience which can be started quickly n end quickly.. u dont want 5 - 6 hr runs of the game.

I agree with you two. What's wrong with most of the reviews? They are not judging the games how it should: as a portable game, not like a full console release.

I agree with you all. People, don´t forget it´s a portable game, it´s not GT4 or GT5 prologue. We all know the high quality of the series since the PS 1, i´m sure PD did the best racing game possible in PSP.

LOL... I agree with all of you... I actually came in here to say something similiar.

"...it's a psp game. Reviewers are probablly expecting too much."

From other thread.

BTW - This makes it 7 positive reviews versus 3 decent reviews.

I think the expectation is that Polyphony were going to make a Gran Turismo game on PSP, not a watered down version of a PS2 game.

I'm pretty sure people loved Resistance PSP and GoW chains, because they were designed for the handheld. By the looks of things, GT PSP was just GT4 shoved into a UMD and what ever didn't fit was discarded without much thought about which parts would be more crucial to core gameplay experience.

this is perfect for my daily 1 hour subway time killing.

still don't like the fact that playing GT with d-pad.

the only thing i think is a problem is only having 4 different dealerships a day

This is the first GT for the PSP, also, Sony and PD wanted to make the game portable in every way, which means they don't want you playing career mode for 4 hours on the PSP-3000, or (go), like you would on your home consoles, so they limited the career mode a lot and really built the game around an Arcade experience rather than a full fledge time consuming / space hogging career mode...... LOL they should have called it GT:minis.

Doing so also made the game smaller in size which helps when trying to download for the PSP-go. Remember ease of access, portability, and simple / quick / undedicated game play is the theme for the PSP from now on.

The aim for Sony was to make the PSP-go and GT more digestible for the "on the go consumer", quick and easy game play, and just straight up fun out the box. This approach will anger many GT hardcore fans and reviewers no doubt, but that don't mean the game is bad. PD really can't make a bad GT game, well, at least I cant see them doing that.

This will be one of those games where some reviewers see the purpose of the changes (see above) while other wont, but I expect every GT fan to love it. And I hope that none of you thought that Sony would release a full GT experience on the PSP when they have the real game (GT5) coming out by years end?

to be fair the creator did say this was a full spec GT game and not a watered down version

8 positive reviews.

4 so-so reviews.'

Mixed bag for sure. People shouldn't write it off just yet. I say play it before deciding.
