lol. 50 cent game outsold (well, 2 format) punch out.

No justice.

Didn't that list have Arc Rise Fantasia and a bunch of other games at some point? All I'm saying is that you're falling into the same trap that PS3 fanboys fell into, and it's freakin' goofy.

Nope. Not in the 'big movers' category. I just thought ARF etc. would give it a little boost to keep it level (which it did) not anything like MH3, etc.

Well maybe only 2 of the games you listed will be big movers anyways. Just stop posting that list everywhere.

ARF didn't give the Wii a boost. Wii was selling mainly because of MK, Wii Fit and Taiko. ARF week didn't see a boost at all. None of the games launched this year besides MHG and WSR gave the Wii a boost. Even in weeks without SW Wii sales stay on the same level, so saying that ARF made the boost not fall is false. Punch-Out won't be the responsible for the Wii sales this week, neither will DBZ, but a combination of the long time stayers I mentioned before.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

For my own money, holy fraking ouch at Ranshima Monogatari (AKA "Rareland Story"); apparently trying to sell what more or less amounts to an Atelier knockoff on sex appeal in the wake of the thoroughly excellent Atelier Rorona - to say nothing of the DQIX juggernaut - is not the wisest of decisions. They shipped around 6000 copies and still only sold a quarter of them the first day? Good grief. I wonder if they'll actually sell all 6k of the initial shipment in the first week? Or if they'll even make back the investment if sales are that sluggish.

That's not a bad start for Katamari, I guess. It's always been a bit of a niche thing, even in Japan, and the original director's not part of the franchise any longer which may be hurting perception of the product in Japan.

The first dragonball sold almost 200k on the wii, it's weird it flopped this hard, it's just unbelievable
