I agree with what JohnLucas is saying EXCEPT the launch sales.  It will be huge, but the sales will be mostly after launch through word of mouth.  Also, it will sell out a lot, but there won't be that many available at launch.

Doesnt add anything to gaming. Just makes the Wii and exersize device. I believe that Japan and SMG shows proof already of what were talking about. The Wii appealed to different than normal gamers. And although the Wii ecosystem was far healthier than GCN at the time of SMS release and SMG got far better reviews it has sold less. Why? Well because many of the people that bought a Wii are clueless to Mario and couldnt care less about the Mario franchise. 

You will see this even moreso with WiiFit. Some 40 year old woman who purchases a Wii and WiiFit to drop a few pounds doesnt all of a sudden also start purchasing additional Video Games.


 Any sales in the gaming industry helps it, as it fund the companies that makes the games, Nintendo selling high Wii Fit sales will fund their further games, and while not every one who buys a Wii Fit will buy other hardcore games, they will purchase other Non-games and may even purchase some "Hardcore games"

technically, halo 3 sold around 4 million its opening week (thats with US AND others) or about the same number of wiis in japan

Unless every single person that has a wii buys this game, its not happening



                 With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Wii fit should sell tons in it's first week mainly because the majority of Wii owners (60-80%) are casual gamers.

I'll bet my avatar and a 1 month ban that the PS3 by March 08 will be 3 Million units away in WW sales of the Wii. konnichiwa, Your gonna regret this!!!!!!

 I couldn't agree more. Wii Fit has the potential to be huge.. I imagine it will be advertised in non video game sources and they'll probably show it on Oprah and Good Morning America. First week, it will probably sell around 100k.

Halo 3 did TREMENDOUS sales on its opening days. ABSOLUTELY TREMENDOUS. RECORD-BREAKING and awe-inspiring. I see something. I see something big.

Wii Fit is due in Japan before the end of this year. More than any other market Nintendo has a great command of what the Japanese people want. They've studied the changing demographics as a great portion of the population is aging and have included that in their corporate direction. Hence games like Wii Fit.

While it indeed will be popular worldwide and have legs that will last throughout the entire duration of the system's life much like other games in the Wii series, in Japan in particular Wii Fit will shock the world.

I'm gonna say it.

Wii Fit in Japan *alone* will TRUMP the godsmacking sales of Halo 3 on its opening week.

And the only reason I said simply Japan is because the game will not be simultaneously released in all markets.

If you include all markets together when the game initially releases this prediction stands even stronger and will trump Halo 3 sales further.

Halo 3 even sold in Japan pretty considerable despite that system being basically DOA over there. Wii Fit will do what Halo 3 has done throughout the world and beyond ESPECIALLY in Japan.

When Wii Fit hits this board will be in a tailspin of disbelief and I fear the moderators will have their hands full with people in disgust at these turns of events agitating themselves up to banhood as what often happens when folks take this stuff too personally.

People can never say I'm a boring guy. Who else has the balls to make these insane in the membrane predictions and stand by them closer than Tammy Wynette stands by her man?

Hahaha i think Wii Fit will absolutely flop. It will sell in Japan, but I am calling flop in the US.
