Forums - Microsoft Discussion - What is stopping Microsoft from making Halo: CE online play capable?

What kiefer said.

They would have to redo the entire netcode which they could if they really wanted to but I'm guessing their too busy with their future titles.

I know personaly I would buy Halo:CE with live capability day one and I know a bunch of other people that would too. Honestly I think they could sell over 2 million easy if the re-release Halo:CE with live. Probably over 3 million.

Fingers crossed that one day in the future they surprise their fans and give us back one of the greatest fps ever with live support.

That very thing has been done, and a while ago. It's called xbox connect and its how people used to play Halo:CE onlie together.

The only problem is its a real hassle to setup and is limited in a massive amount of ways like no voice chat and a maximum of 4 xboxes in a room.

I'd prefer an optimum gaming experience.

Well it wouldn't be a success, just deal with Halo 3, and upcoming titles.

How would you know it wouldn't be a success? Nintendo has released numerous titles over and over again with success. How many times have the Resident Evil games sold well with remakes? Plenty.

Well, I personally would love to see Halo: CE with online. I would buy it first day or week it came out.
