Futurama > Family Guy > Simpsons > King of the Hill > South Park > American Dad

Well King of the Hill will probably fall quite quickly - it's hard to get your hands on the show in the UK, and I've only managed to watch it recently (borrowed box sets from a friend), the novelty will likely wear-off soon, though.

My only problem with King of the Hill is Hank's wife Peggy.  Most of the time I just wish she didn't exist.

^Her big feet turn me on.

Err, I mean, yeah, she's too up herself.

I don't like either (or any "adult" cartoon), but I have eternal haterid to Family Guy and its extremely childish humor, so I guess Simpsons.

They're both junk now.

However, at its peak, The Simpsons was better than Family Guy ever was or ever will be.

This.

Family Guy has it's moments but it has a terrible laugh to joke ratio. For every ten jokes on the newer Family Guy episodes, I laugh once, which creates the impression that the show isn't funny. Newer Simpsons have a similar problem, but with fewer overall jokes. So if it was just recently, Family Guy wins by a nose, but over the span of the series, Simpsons wins hands down.

The Simpsons used to use more subtle humour, but now they follow somewhat of a "Here's the joke" style. Everything is so in your face, and that's not how I like my comedy. It's okay to have a few outrageous moments, but when that's your whole show I may as well just surf Youtube. When jokes are subtle you can simply ignore the ones you don't find funny, but when they're so obvious it's impossible. The Simpsons has really been dumbed down for years now.

Pretty much every show people have mentioned in this thread are better than the current incarnation of The Simpsons or Family Guy.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

It was family guy for me until last season. The last season of family guy just wasn't as funny to me.

The Simpsons with no contest.

Excluding of course the aforementioned Futurama.

Why?  Futurama and the Simpsons have low brow humor...

they also however have a lot of highbrow humor... and put in jokes that are kinda hidden... but are hidden as such because you need to have studied certain fields in college to understand them.

They hit all levels of humor.

Family guy... not so much.

Family guy was hilarious... but then they brought it back... and it fell apart.  The jokes may have been interchangeable in Family guy... but it used to have at least some plot... now... not so much.

And they seem to be resorting to shock value a bit too much lately.

Really? The original Family Guy episodes were the bad ones, i felt. It was the first couple seasons after the comeback that were their best work.

In the first few seasons, it was too heavy-handed. Plus the fact that pretty much every episode in the pre-cancellation era could be summed up in "Don't piss off Lois."

@ Topic. The Simpsons. Past, present, future.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The first 10 seasons of The Simpsons beats all

The last 10 seasons of The Simspons loses to all

I find Family Guy funnier, although the later seasons have been getting pretty week.

Both have good and bad episodes. But I like Family Guy better.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)
Nintendo ID: Mako91                  3DS code: 4167-4543-6089

family guy's first season was pure gold but after a few seasons it got a bit boring, but the simpsons are still fresh IMO they always find a way to surprise you and keep the show fresh.American dad is not bad either

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
