Around the Network

Since the days of the NES, Nintendo's customer service has always been second to none. About a year after I got my GC, purchased shortly after launch in mid Dec '01, I kept getting disc read errors, even on newly purchased games, and it turned out the disc lens wasn't functioning properly.

Called Nintendo up, and after about 5 minutes with a friendly English speaking guy named John, he referred me to an authorized repair center nearest my house, which was just a 20 minute drive away. Went there, dropped my GC off, and 2 weeks later they shipped me a brand spanking new one. Didn't have to pay a dime for anything thanx to Nintendo's 1-year fully covered warranty.

That's the one and only time I've ever had to call Nintendo Customer Service for any of their hardware, and I own every Nintendo system except the Virtual Boy.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

They just did there job. You paid 85 bucks and goy it a few days early, Nintendo seems to make overestimating things a way of life, regarding their revenue estimates and their repair time. Nothing spectacularly unusual imho.

My DS wasn't under warranty because the warranty had expired a few days prior but they still fixed mine for free! They have the best customer service evAr.
