i don't like counting bundles games as part of game sales. that said, if they do come out with wii sports 2 in the next couple years and don't bundle it i think that will be the best selling unbundled game ever, heck i think it could even beat out super mario bros. 1

true words were never spoken in the video game world--i mean there are so many sports that could have been done it wouldnt be hard to pick a few new ones
also we cant forget about Wii Play--that is a hot item as well
To ilovetogame and anyone else who might make the argument that Wii Sports doesn't count because it's bundled, please note that Super Mario Bros. is the top selling game due to its being a pack-in game.
The top-selling non-bundled console game would be Super Mario Bros. 3 (at significantly smaller a number).
EDIT: Noted that we're talking console games. Otherwise Tetris would be #2 (Pokémon is split across three games, then across two, Duck Hunt was a double-game with Super Mario Bros., Super Mario World was a pack-in, unsure if Super Mario Land was packed-in or not, but that is Game Boy, then up is Super Mario Bros. 3)

whiteoutking, yeah i know smb1 is the top selling game because it was bundled. i don't really consider it the top selling game because of that. but whatever. wii sports would still be selling close to what it is even if it wasn't bundled.

i was just thinking--they might need to change that number b/c of the V/c--i mean its the complete game being sold again?

I thought Super Mario Bros was bundled with the NES.
mesoteto, i don't think the vc should game as game sales. I mean at least not added to the totals that already exist. Mostly because they don't exist other than on some server somewhere. I dunno, it just shouldn't count.
