Alko, your incoherent ramblings don't make any sense. What they're saying is that the Folding at home program has allowed them to do what they consider to be a decade worth of calculations. Whether that leads to cures in the medical field or not, it's still a massive amount of calculations. And having that information is immensly helpful (discovering a million ways that don't work IS important scientifically)

ALKO, this project was around for a long time before PS3, and Stanford would not waste it's time and money trying to put this on the PS3. It's THEIR project, THEIR results, and frankly, YOU are being an ignorant douchebag by not only calling all of these researchers liars, but by calling their research meaningless and stating that it is a PR move. How can it be a PR move? What the hell does Stanford care about Sony?

P.S. @anyone who says that this wears the PS3 out, my cousin runs this program 24/7 on their PS3 when they aren't playing games. He has it set to auto-start like a screen saver, and he has completed over a hundred work units by now. He literally never turns it off. His PS3 works at least as well as mine, and I've only completed a few units.

First you would need a working Big Bang theory. 

They are releasing TIVO like software for the PS3, you dont ever turn a TIVO off. The PS3 is a very stable machine. I only run it 1 or 2 nights a week - on advanced mode. I think I have 55 work units completed.

Yeah.  That doesn't make the theory make anymore sense.  The Big Bang theory is the best guess we have based on what we know, but it's got a lot of flaws to it. 

It's the best model we have... yet it is still a flawed model.   

Whether the model is right, and we have some misconceptions of the world around us or whether we are wrong about the model has yet to be seen.

Considering we know very very little about the first formative moments of the universe there would be no possible way to recreate the big bang because we have no clue how it happened... if it did.  For all we know there could be yet another explination we haven't figured out yet. 

 Furthermore as is usually the case with science.  We've explained some flaws in the Big Bang theory with guesses based on the fact that it "seems to make sense" and it's easier then the alternative. 

While the big bang is still likely the case... keep in mind this is how we also got "Ethers" and plenty of other science "discoveries" that ended up being more philosophy then science.

 yes, it might sound not really good, but at least the big bang theory sounds 1000 times better then creation.

Wow there ssj12, he wasn't saying big bang bad, bible good. He was just pointing out some of the limitations in our understanding of what happened billions of years ago.

He's saying we can't make a computer model of the big bang theory because we don't know nearly enough to make such a model.
