Evolution all the way, there is no logical alternative.

USA - Muslim - Evolution is obvious. God created laws which everything follows. Evolution is one of those many, yet, fundamental processes of life.

I agree with everything but the Muslim part...

why this gets listed as "Other" i don't know... since nothing in evolution rules out god.

In fact Darwin believed in god.

Not any god in particular though.  He was basically an agnostic who leaned towards god existing.

A deist more or less.

I mean your belief is just... evolution.

I mean saying you believe in the laws of gravity and that those laws were created by god doesn't mean you don't believe in gravity.

If you think gravity or evolution are good theories that implies you think the scientific method is a good framework for interpreting the universe. All experiments done tend to suggest everything follows inviolable rules and is deterministic. Invoking a supernatural God is, by definition, clearly at odds with this; this is why science is 'in conflict' with religion.

Say you and I are Mario and Luigi from Super Mario Galaxy.  Our world follows set rules that are inviolable and deterministic.

So this would suggest that there was no programmer who created our game world?

Should Mario and Luigi be atheists?  Everything by your definition suggests it.  Yet we know that a "God" created their world... with those rules.

It's not too far a stretch to suggest we will be able to come up with computer programs with "free will."

Heck it's not too far of a stretch to suggest that we ARE computer programs with free will.

I really think mine should be 'other' based no your reasoning as I don't think I clearly fit into ID. Evolution is definitely happening, however, it was driven by laws created by God. Not that God is continuously controlling it now. More like God determined the laws of nature/physics and set it in motion.

I kinda feel like we are all one massive experiment and God is simply watching.

I'm gonna go with this.

Did Kasz just call Miyamoto God?

Seemed like the correct analogy with the "Miyamoto is God" threads that people have made.

Claiming a position on something that is currently unknowable is a mistake... a 2-D man doesn't know there are 3 dimensions until told by a 3D man... etc.

It's man's greatest conceit that we believe we have the ability and pure brain power to comprhend all of existence.

I mean otherwise instead of Mario and Luigi i'd of used Sim life, Sim Earth or Spore... which basically fit all of the parameters.

Nope.  I think he's a closet Christian.

That's why i'm not voting for him.

Evolution does not argue against the existence of any god. In fact, there is no scientific evidence for or against the existence of any god or other super-natural being and thus there can be no theory about whether or not any such being or beings exist. Science is an attempt to understand how the universe works. Why it works that way could not be less relevant to the process. Theories set out to explain a set of observations, and never once have I heard of one good one that tries to explain why it would be that way. Why does matter attract other matter? I dunno, but I know the theory of gravity explains how it works. Your stance in regards to this thread would be evolution based on everything you posted.
