Forums - Sony Discussion - Should Sony build the PS3 into their TVs?

If they build it the PS3 into the TV you could play it without all the wires and the disc slot could be on the side of the TV like a Mac. The only con I can think of is you can't play it anywhere else.

I don't think a lot of people would buy that...

Would be cool though!

Its kinda dumb, a lot of people are bitching about ie being built into ms.

If the same argument happens, it shouldn't have even be bought into consideration.

I'm not saying I'm for or against the topic being proposed, but I think Windows and Internet Explorer are different than Sony integrating a video game console inside some of their TV's.

See this would be true integration of the computer into the household. This would be something that people valued. Convience, cheap easy to use integrated. Of course it would need a Wiiremote instead of a classic remote. You could have a XMB(was it?) overlay a TV program and stuff. This would be good. I think I said something like this before. That a true integrated device would sit where the old classic VCR used to. Between the TV and the Input system.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I love the idea, I'm still waiting the day PC's are built into TV's, itll come, just a matter of time... I think the Cell Processor in TV's will help make this a reality (PC's in TV's, not PS3)

The downsides of a PS3 in a TV is what if the PS3 goes bad... you have to send the whole TV back? or maybe an option of being able to disconnected the PS3 from the back or something

Anyway, I think the future of TV's will indeed have PC's in them, consoles would be great, but i doubt itd happen any time soon...Though it would help Sony if they sold Sony PS3 in their Sony TV's :D
