Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Would you rather play An RPG or a FPS, or just a normal Adventure game

What would you rather play, and why

RPG hands down. I like having an involved story and slowly making my character's stats better and better. Plus, on an average RPG's have longer single player campaigns, which are usually the main thing I enjoy about games.

...

If by adventure you mean Zelda,Okami,Crystal Bearers

Then Adventure.

I lie the fantasy of an RPG epic scope of things and a story but want to avoid the turn based battles plus I like to explore a lot(don't get me wrong I like rpgs)

RPGs. Growing in levels is one of the most rewarding expierinces in video games. Futhermore, the vast differences between WRPGs and JRPGs keep the genre broad and fresh. They also have the longest single-player sections of any other genre.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

I would take a platformer over just about anything!

Out of those I would take the adventure game (Ninja Gaiden for example).

This, then a Action/adventure like Zelda, Crystal Bearers

Define adventure.

Adventure games used to be like the old Lucasarts point-and-click type PC games.

Now I'm not really sure what "adventure" is.

We'll miss you George.

My friends call me Hadoken because I'm down-right fierce

FPS is the last on my list since I don't like killing enemies with guns.

Action/adventure = Zelda, Okami

Action = DMC, NJ

Adventure = Broken sword

I am more of an action adventure guy. In that case, I'll go with both an RPG and FPS.
