Forums - Gaming Discussion - Graphics: Resident Evil 5 360 > Killzone 2?

I have been watching him play and I knew Resident Evil 5 would have really good graphics, from the movies and screenshots I saw before even the demo came out, and when I saw the demo it was all but confirmed, Resident Evil 5 showed that the 360 can pull of Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, a game Sony claimed could not be done on 360 without Blu-ray and Resident Evil 5 also proves 360 can even pull of Metal Gear Solid 4

IMO Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Killzone 2 could all be done on the 360, but with sacrifices.

- Metal Gear Solid 4 would need to be scaled down in terms of assets, such as its 7.1 audio and textures. It would still need to be supplied on multiple discs.

- Uncharted: Drake's Fortune would also need to be similarly scaled down and it would have to settle for less impressive HDR, like FP10 on the 360.

- Killzone 2 would also need to be scaled down in terms of assets and on the 360 would have to do with fewer light sources and effects.

But yes, IMO these games could be done on the 360 with some cutting here and there (like older PCs are able to run new games with sub-recommended configurations). However these developers don't need to worry about such things, as these games will remain exclusive to the PS3, instead of trying to shoehorn their games within the 360 architecture they can now focus on pushing the PS3 even much further with Metal Gear 5, Uncharted 2 and Killzone 3.

vga can never be as good as hdmi or dvi....vga resolution doesn't allow it..it only goes up to a certain resolution and needs to be re-sampled to get resolutions higher than 720p...which causes some quality loss...you will notice especially in text...where the text at the edges are slightly more blurry than the hdmi/dvi in some cases...

hdmi/dvi send direct digital signal which does not require any re-sampling and has no quality loss due to not having to re-sample....

I go off my eyes and VGA has a sharper cleaner look for games for than HDMI, I will listen to the technicalities, but in the end I go with what I see and VGA looks better to me than HDMI for games.

I think Metal Gear 5 is coming to 360 though.

Bit late for jokes now dude don't you think?...even if you compare RE5 to uncharted( a 2007 game) it still can't match uncharted then how can you even compare RE5 to KZ2?...how would I know?? I own both and finished both games.

There are still people like you?

Uncharted has been out performed by many  multiplat and exclusive  games , basically every multiplat game that comes out now looks better than uncharted. It was good for its time but its 2009 , get your head straight

RE5 looks infinitely better than uncharted but KZ2 looks better than RE5(its NOT the best looking console game).

I love the colors in Unchartered.  You look at Unchartered, Halo 3, and RE5 they put a lot more colour in the environment.  KZ2, CoD, and Gears all chose very mono palettes for their environments.  Gears 2 is somewhere inbetween...  Some mono some nice and colorful environments.

Oh hi Mike, how is you 140 million LTD for PS3 sales going?

lol jk

Both games look good, I don't really care. I play games to have fun, not to jerk off in front of the tv.

Still on track with my anticipations of doing ~10 million sales per year, hopefully a cheaper slimline product gets released this year so it can do my anticipated ~15 million on average sales per year. Let's wait for 2016 before coming to conclusions, ok?

BTW, I said I expected going beyond 100 million should be no problem assuming Sony's 10 year lifecycle. If somebody would have said in the first half of 1997 the Playstation 1 would sell over 100 million, maybe people would have frowned as well (was only about 14 million shipped taking equal timeframes). So let's not get pre-emptively childish and off topic, ok?

PS3 vs 360 sales

I don't even find RE5 to be visually impressive at all. then again, I've only seen the ps3 version, maybe it really is that much worse than it's 360 counterpart LMAO. Regardless of how gorgeous RE5 may be on the 360 which I can't seem to see thanks to the "lousy" ps3, I highly doubt that a game that just released and has been in development for years prior and isn't remotely owned by M$, is their so-called proof that 360 is more powerful. And if RE is the end all, of graphics, it frankly is a pathetic attempt at such a proof.

@OP

You seem to have this idea that you're speaking for the voiceless 360 and keep making all these flamebait threads. Good luck lasting on the site!
